Delivery Driver - box truck experience required
Job description
Delivery driver needed for the Madison area. Our delivery route starts and ends in Prairie du Sac, but our customer base is in and around Madison. Our vehicle is refrigerated and we deliver meat products via a box truck. Prior experience is a MUST. Heavy lifting and using a dolly carrying 200+ pounds are required. Background checks are performed on every candidate. A 90 day pay review is guaranteed with performance based wage increase potential.
Delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - potential for more shifts. This position has flexible scheduling, based on business demand. Hours can range from a minimum of 15 hours a week and maximum of 35, depending on how busy we are.
We operate three businesses and our delivery driver keeps things moving between our sites, as needed. We have a restaurant in Madison (Heritage Tavern) as well as a Fitchburg location where we operate our catering business (Heritage Catering).
Job Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and a history of driving box trucks and/or commercial vans
- Follow all company guidelines around delivery of fresh and frozen meat products
- Monitor temperature of refrigerated vehicle and product
- Monitor maintenance needs for delivery vehicle(s) - oil changes, tire pressure, maintenance needs, coolant levels
- Work closely with ordering processing team on delivery routes and customer needs
- Assist with moving items between company locations - example, keep each of our three sites stocked with water softener salt, pick up mail to bring back to office weekly
Necessary Qualifications:
Team player with a positive attitudeAble to speak, read, and write in English
Able to drive a box truck or van for long periods, with breaks
Able to stand for long periods of time, with breaks
Strong work ethic with reliable transportation
Able to routinely lift 50 pounds
Forklift experience is helpful
