Lawn Maintenance Technician/Certified Pesticide Applicator
Lawn Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing the labor necessary to complete tasks such as mowing and trimming of lawns, dispersal of lawn clippings, raking and disposing of leaves and other yard waste, assisting with spring and fall cleanups, snow removal in winter months and other tasks as required.
Certified Pesticide Applicator is responsible for applying fertilizer and herbicide applications to residential and commercial properties in accordance with all DATCP regulations. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizer and herbicide in accordance with DATCP regulations
  • Mow lawns using a push or riding lawnmower
  • Trim and edge around driveways, sidewalks, trees, mulch beds, and walls
  • Clear accumulated clippings on walks, beds, etc. via blowing or raking
  • Complete spring and fall cleanups as needed
  • Tree & shrub trimming/hedging
  • Install & maintain mulch/rock beds
  • Load and secure all tools and other necessary equipment and materials
  • Maintain equipment and trucks
  • Take direction from the crew leader and complete other tasks as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with other co-workers to function as a team
  • Assist with snow removal during the winter months as business needs dictate
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed outdoors during all seasons.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat or cold).
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required for duties such as equipment operation that expose the individual to elevated noise levels.
  • Duties of this position may expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.
Education, Certification and License:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
  • Certified Pesticide Applicator License – all licensing fees, exam and study material are covered by Bollig Best Lawn.
Experience:
  • Previous lawn maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Desire to learn effective turf management skills and techniques.
  • Knowledge of grass, trees, shrubs and other landscape products is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
  • Squat, stoop, or kneel and lift objects from ground frequently.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull weight of up to 50 pounds.
Job Specifications
  • Full-time and Seasonal positions available.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:45am to 5:00pm (40-55 hours per week) during our peak season (approximately April to November). Saturday hours as needed.
  • Hours vary in winter months (approximately December through March) based on snow removal.
  • Overtime may be required as workload dictates.
