POSITION SPECIFICS
Title:  Continuous Improvement Coach
FTE:  1.0 (40 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid (Onsite and Remote)
Schedule: Monday to Friday flexible hours
Holiday Rotation:  None
Weekend Rotation:  None
On Call Requirements:  None 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Continuous Improvement Coach will help drive continuous improvement throughout Sauk Prairie Healthcare using Lean principles. This position is responsible for organization-wide training, skill and competency development of Lean continuous improvement principles and tools and acts as a coach for departments in their daily improvement efforts.

POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Teach, lead, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean tools and methodologies
  2. Develop training materials, tools, content and standard work for teaching Lean continuous improvement and management systems
  3. Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement events using Lean tools and methodologies
  4. Identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency and waste reduction
  5. Partner with and support leadership to coordinate, develop and implement improvement initiatives
  6. Consult and partner with leadership and teams to analyze complex issues and facilitate change to positively impact patient care, teams, and operations. 
  7. Perform accurate data collection to help justify and/or monitor improvements.
  8. Develop methods for appropriate delivery of program content.
  9. Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of effective metrics.
  10. Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to help build strong relationships to ensure project success.
  11. Provide coaching, ideas and recommendations to department teams to help reduce waste and improve efficiency and quality.
  12. Work with team members to ensure project tasks are managed and completed in a timely manner.
  13. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and experience and knowledge from other staff.
  14. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  15. Monitor and evaluate activity/initiatives in meeting identified objectives.
  16. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  17. Identify opportunities to share best practices and “lessons learned” related to initiatives across the organization in a timely, collaborative, and interactive manner.
  18. Other special projects and duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a business, technical or scientific program with specific coursework in Lean principles, project management, process planning, or process improvement

Experience:

  • Required: One to three years experience in healthcare, preferably within a hospital or clinic environment.  Three to five years  experience in Lean continuous improvement teaching and/or coaching
  • Preferred: Three to five years experience in healthcare
