About Us

We promote conservation on the Badger Lands through education, prairie restoration, recreation and research.

The former Badger Army Ammunition Plant, located north of Prairie du Sac, has been decommissioned and transferred to four landowners: the Wisconsin DNR, the Ho-Chunk Nation, Dairy Forage Research Center, and the Bluffview Sanitation District. The DNR portion is open to the public for various recreation activities.

The property also features the Museum of Badger Army Ammunition and the Great Sauk State Trail, a popular bike path.

Badger Apple Corps Volunteer
Category: Volunteer
Join a group of volunteers working to preserve the apple trees planted at the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant. These trees date back from before the ammunition plant and represent apple varieties that are no longer commercially available. We document, preserve, and transplant trees to honor the farm families who planted them.
