Prevail Bank Donates $3,500 to The Friends of Baraboo Parks --- News Release: 5/24/2022

Prevail Bank donated $3,500 to the Friends of Baraboo Parks to support the building of a splash pad in Attridge Park.

“We are very appreciative of Prevail Bank’s donation,” said Bekah Stelling, President of the Friends of Baraboo Parks organization. “We hope to break ground in the spring of 2023.”

The Friends of Baraboo Parks, a nonprofit formed in 2020, was created to fill-in the gap between city funded projects and community funded projects.  One of the first initiatives of the organization was to raise funds for a zero depth accessible water playground for all ages — a splash pad.

“The splash pad is highly desirable because it is all-inclusive; it is accessible to all and is an option for non-swimmers,” shared Stelling. “It will be located in Attridge Park, which is already considered a ‘low touch point’ park or handicapped accessible, with Riverwalk access.”

Stelling describes the project as a true collaboration.  Community members and businesses are providing the funding for the splash pad; the Village of West Baraboo will be funding the build of a gazebo, and once the park is completed; the City will manage all the maintenance and expenses thereafter associated.  If funding allows, the organization would also like to add bathroom facilities and a concession stand. Splash pad contributions are being accepted through: Friendsofbarabooparks.org

“We are very proud to support the Friends of Baraboo Parks because this investment promotes and builds community pride, quality family time, and a potential economic boost to the community due to desirability and appeal of this new amenity,” said Kristi Anderson, Prevail Bank Branch Manager for Baraboo. “We’re a community bank that is passionate about economic development, and the financial stability and growth of individuals, families, and businesses.”

The Charitable Contributions program of Prevail Bank is available for local non-profits that help local people in need, especially those with low-to-moderate incomes; stimulate communities financially; and/or enhances the standard of living of those less fortunate.
