About Us

The Friends of the Great Sauk State Trail was established in 2015 as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, with a mission to enhance, promote, manage and advocate for the continued development of the Great Sauk Trail, a nearly 13 mile multi-use trail connecting the Sauk Prairie community to Devil's Lake State Park, Wisconsin's most visited state park.

To make the trail the world-class attraction it should be, the friends group aims to raise $1.0 million. The Friends group has already provided funding for the first two phases. The group is also charged with enhancing the trail by installing signs, art, benches, and other amenities to make the trail experience safe, educational, and most importantly unforgettable.

To pursue this mission, the Friends of the Great Sauk Trail depend on contributions from people like you. Consider making a tax-deductible donation or volunteering
your time.
