The mission of the Sauk Prairie Area Literacy Council (SPALC) is to empower people of all backgrounds in the Sauk Prairie Area to successfully navigate the English language at home, on the job and in their community. We accomplish our mission by matching tutors with adult learners who have reached out to us expressing interest in improving their English language skills. SPALC provides tutor training, teaching materials and ongoing support at no cost to the tutor and no cost to the learner. No prior teaching

Sauk Prairie Kids CompanionWe are seeking local (able to drive to Sauk City) community members, business owners, civic leaders, recent graduates, or other involved and passionate people to help steer the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance as it enters its 26th year. We meet the first Thursday evening of the month. Winter meetings are virtual; all others are held in Sauk City. Board members are encouraged to volunteer at our events around the region. Sauk Prairie Conservation AllianceJoin a group of volunteers working to preserve the apple trees planted at the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant. These trees date back from before the ammunition plant and represent apple varieties that are no longer commercially available. We document, preserve, and transplant trees to honor the farm families who planted them.
