Shift: Full Time, 4pm-12am or 6pm-2am Monday-Friday

Position Summary

Assist production supervisor in various daily activities, ranging from, but not limited to promoting labor efficiency, championing quality and sanitary objectives while supporting training needs as required. Responsible for performing required duties related to assigned area(s). 
 

Five Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring milk/cheese processing quality, consistency, and ensuring company quality and safety standards (moisture, temp, & etc).
  • Assures that all needed documentation and required shift forms are properly completed (process charts, logs, cheese vat time schedule etc.) and also responsible for tracking/reporting of all shift inventory usage (MRP/ASC Track) to proper personnel.
  • Responsible for setting up and running all production equipment such as; pasteurizer, Filler, Flipper and Demolder in the various production areas (processing) as assigned.
  • Responsible for reporting all product abnormalities as well as any equipment or material issues to management immediately.
  • Responsible for maintaining, proper machine functioning, some troubleshooting and cleaning of the machines.

Key Activities 

When assigned to one or more of the following area(s) operators key activities are as follows;

Key Activities – Packaging

  • Operates and sets up packing machine with correct machine settings, correct film, material, labels and etc. 
  • Responsible for proper package seal.
  • Responsible for operating company specified food safety check points.
  • Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.

Key Activities – Processing

  • Operates and is knowledgeable of the pasteurizer & homogenizer. 
  • Sets temperature according to pasteurizer milk ordinance (PMO) and company procedures.
  • Knowledge of CIP procedures.
  • Fill and explain chart process (pens), maintains & update process charts daily and enters receiving information into database (Excel).
  • Addition of components as required by company procedures.
  • Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.

Key Activities – Forming

  • Operates and ensures proper use & configuration of V-Meg and mixer according to product schedule.
  • Addition of components as required by company procedures.
  • Monitors moisture according to company procedures. 
  • Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.

Key Activities – Shipping and Receiving

  • Monitors, checks and receives milk and cream deliveries (using proper safety and receiving procedures), performs antibiotic test and prepares milk according to product schedule.
  • Follow company procures for counting all incoming and outgoing shipments (ASC, Bill of Laden & etc.)
  • Checks chemical inventory and orders chemicals for sanitization as required. 
  • Responsible for filling, explaining chart (pens), maintaining & updating charts daily and enters receiving information into database (Excel).
  • Knowledge of CIP procedures 
  • Addition of components as required by company procedures.
  • Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.

Key Activities - All Areas

  • Effective communication with supervisors, drivers, employees, quality assurance and maintenance.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting production machinery. 
  • Operate Handheld Scanner
  • Must be able to read, document and control product within company/customer specifications.
  • Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position. 
  • Follow GMP’s, sanitation procedures & SOP’s as set forth by company.
  • Takes product samples as required.

Skills Required

  • Ability to lead group and make decisions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to speak conversational Spanish preferred.
  • Employees must be able to do everything in class V, IV, III & II.
  • Able to speak, write, read and follow instructions in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Chemical Handling training (if assigned to area that requires Chemical handling)
  • Forklift certification (if assigned to area that requires use Forklifts)

WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Production roles are performed in a food manufacturing environment and require strict adherence to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards, including use of required PPE. Employees may work in areas with variable temperatures, machinery noise, and exposure to food ingredients and sanitation chemicals. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting up to 25–35 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance).
