-Position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing

Materials planning managers are management professionals who are responsible for developing material planning processes to enable operational and production continuity in a manufacturing firm. These managers must ensure that the supply of materials is available so that they can meet and satisfy production requirements. They must manage and develop a team that meets objectives and delivers best practice results and continuous improvements. Material planning managers must also collaborate with the purchasing team to evaluate the performance of suppliers and provide resolution about their concerns.

Seek ways to improve the efficiency of all related supply and material planning processes

Lead a team of material planners, schedulers

-Develop/maintain the production schedule in partnership with procurement, foundry, machining, assembly and cross-collaboration with our quality team.

-Develop the material and inventory plan and production schedule.

-Provide leadership to Master Planning, Production Planning, and Scheduling functions

-Develop materials plans to align with customer demand/manufacturing build schedules

-Develop/enhance processes around ERP usage

-Drive improvements to KPIs such as inventory turns, material shortages, and on-time delivery to customer.

To be successful you will need:

-BS in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or another related field

-5+ years of experience in Materials Management/Planning

-Strong ERP system skills – SAP

-Demonstrated supervisory/management skills

-Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization

Things considered a plus:

-MBA

-CPIM or CSCP certification

-SAP Required

-Demand Planning

-Experience in a make to order (MTO) and make to stock (MTS) manufacturing environments

Education:

  • Bachelor's and/or related Materials Planning Manager held position for 5 years+

Experience:

  • Supply chain management: 5 years (Required)
  • Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)
  • Management Experience in a Supervisory role: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • CPIM (Preferred)
  • CSCP (Preferred)
