Smorgasbord

The Dorf Haus supper club, near Sauk City, serves its  monthly Monday night all-you-can eat Bavarian-style smorgasbord, November 4, 5-9 p.m.
 
The smorgasbord includes knackwurst, schweinsrippen, sauerbraten, wiener schnitzel, pork schnitzel, hocks, spaetzle and other rotating German specialties, plus salad bar, German chocolate cake and other specialty desserts. The cost is $18.95 for adults, $5.50 for children 5-12, and $3 for four years old and under.
 
The smorgasbord, offered 15 Mondays a year, has been voted best buffet in Madison Newspapers reader poll. The smorgasbord draws 250 to 350 fans from a 60 mile radius and beyond to the hamlet Roxbury, near Sauk City.
 
Buttons & Banjo plays polkas and more to add to the Bavarian atmosphere and gemuetlichkeit.
