Gallery Party Exhibit Opening

As long-time Merrimac postmaster, school bus driver, conservationist, county board member, Little League baseball coach, and exceptional folk artist, Roger A. Shanks meant a lot of things to a lot of people, but perhaps none more than to his family. Come join the Shanks family as they celebrate the life and art of Roger A. Shanks during a happy hour gallery opening of the exhibit "Roger A. Shanks--From the Heart of Lake Wisconsin" on Saturday, April 16, from 3 to 5 PM in the Ochsner Gallery of the Tripp Heritage Museum, downtown Prairie du Sac. Admire the intricate hand-carved figures, waterfowl, and early pencil sketches of a man whose skill was ever-evolving. Exhibit highlight: a hand-drawn map of the town of Merrimac, circa 1930s, outlining family names and houses. This event is free and open to the public. Appetizers and beverages served.
